Another cold month caps off coldest winter in Winnipeg in 35 years.. - average temp of -20.0C at YWG airport, coldest Feb since 1979 - month was 6.5C below normal, third straight month well below normal - average temp for winter at Winnipeg (Dec - Feb) at -20.3C, coldest since 1979 (-20.8C) - 3rd coldest winter in 120 years (behind 1935-36, and 1978-79) - 3rd straight month with a mean of -20.0C or lower, only 2nd time on record that's occurred in Winnipeg (Dec 1886 - Feb 1887 was the only other time since 1872) - 24 cm of snow at my location was well above normal for February (normal 12.5 cm) - sesonal snowfall now at 128 cm, compared to normal of 85 cm by end of Feb
