I thought I would share this as it explains why our winter has been how it’s been a bit.  Very interesting stuff, nonetheless, and important for all of us to pay attention to.  If you’re a bit of a weather nerd, this will be some interesting reading for you 🙂

Arctic sea ice extent for January 2011 was the lowest on record for the month, and marked the second consecutive month a record low has been set, according to the National Snow and Ice Data Center. Most of the missing ice was concentrated along the shores of Northeast Canada and Western Greenland.
